Set up two-factor authentication on Cloudflare
Cloudflare protects your sites and DNS, so its dashboard deserves a second factor. OTPilot works as the authenticator app: it saves the account from Cloudflare's setup page and fills the code at sign-in.
Turn on 2FA
- In the Cloudflare dashboard, go to Profile → Authentication.
- Under Two-Factor Authentication, select Set up.
- Under Mobile App Authentication, select Add.
- Cloudflare shows a QR code. OTPilot detects it and offers to save the account: click Add account. If the prompt doesn't appear, show the setup key on the site instead, then in OTPilot click + → 2FA code: paste the key, give it a name, enter dash.cloudflare.com as the site (so the code fills there), and click Save.
- Enter the current code from OTPilot, then your Cloudflare password, and select Next.
- Enter your password again, select Next to review your backup codes, and Download, Print or Copy them somewhere safe. Select Next to finish.
Questions
- What are the backup codes for?
- They get you into your Cloudflare account if you lose access to your authenticator. Keep them outside OTPilot.
